Transition to La Tène: A New Era of Celtic Culture
Around 550 BCE, the Celtic culture entered a transitional period towards what is known as the La Tène culture. This era was marked by the development of distinctive weapon and art styles.
Weaponry and Art
The La Tène culture is perhaps best known for its distinctive weaponry. Celtic warriors of this period wielded long swords and large, oval-shaped shields. These weapons were often decorated with intricate designs, demonstrating the Celts' advanced metalworking skills.
In addition to weaponry, the La Tène culture also produced a variety of other art forms. These included ornate jewelry, pottery, and metalwork, all featuring the complex, swirling designs that are characteristic of this period.
