Suppression of Boudicca’s revolt; Roman reprisals and restructuring of rule in Britain

Suppression of Boudicca’s Revolt

In 61 CE, the Roman Empire managed to suppress Boudicca's revolt. The Roman governor, Gaius Suetonius Paulinus, led a disciplined force that defeated the Brittonic tribes.

Roman Reprisals

Following the suppression of the revolt, the Romans enacted severe reprisals against the Brittonic tribes. The Romans restructured their rule in Britain, strengthening their military presence and implementing new administrative measures to prevent further revolts.

Restructuring of Rule

The Roman Empire took steps to consolidate its rule in Britain. This included the establishment of a new Roman capital at Londinium and the construction of a network of roads and forts.
